Lyric Sunday

I want to follow on from my post the other day.

I bought two pairs of laces, one for those new shoes and one for some Merrell walking shoes which date from before the stroke. I’m lucky in that I earned good money, so had well-made things.

The Merrells I am wearing now – we’ve just been out – and the shoes I wore when we went to a friend’s birthday party last night. Probably nobody noticed, either time, except me. But I noticed. And, I noticed the twenty minutes struggle each time to get the shoe onto my bad foot. But I got there.

It’s funny, I’ve read a couple of blogs today – Sunday is the day where somebody suggests a theme and you have to come up with a song. My suggestion is unrelated to their theme but more on the subject of my new (old) shoes: a Louis Armstrong track I know of old:

Louis Armstrong sang a lot of spiritual stuff. I don’t know if he himself was religious, but he certainly had a rich vein to tap into. Satch is one of my favourites. Glory, hallelujah

Author: Stroke Survivor UK

For many years I designed and developed IT systems for big banks. I had a stroke a couple of years ago, aged pre-50! I have returned to developing things from home, not quite at the levels I used to, but saves on the travel! My time is also filled with some voluntary work for the UK charities Age UK and the [UK] Stroke Association. Incidentally, I created this account with the alias "sca11y" but have since aligned it with the name of my blog.
